Double Chin

New York Laser & Skin Care

Submental fullness, commonly referred to as a double chin, can soften the jawline and diminish facial definition. This condition may develop due to genetics, aging, or weight fluctuations, and can persist even in individuals with an otherwise healthy lifestyle. Many patients seek treatment to achieve a more sculpted, refined profile.

Causes and Contributing Factors

A double chin may result from excess fat beneath the chin, decreased skin elasticity, or weakening of the underlying supportive structures. Genetics often play a significant role, while natural collagen loss over time can contribute to skin laxity in the neck and jawline area.

Treatment Options

At New York Laser & Skin Care, Dr. Kauvar offers advanced, non-surgical treatments to reduce submental fullness and enhance jawline definition. Options may include injectable fat-reduction therapies and laser-based skin tightening treatments, each tailored to the patient’s needs. With expert precision, patients can achieve a more contoured, elegant facial profile.
