Birthmarks (Red & Brown)

New York Laser & Skin Care

Birthmarks are common skin variations that may appear at birth or develop shortly thereafter, ranging in color from red (vascular) to brown (pigmented). While many are harmless, they can vary in size, depth, and visibility, and some patients choose treatment for cosmetic refinement or medical evaluation. At New York Laser & Skin Care, we offer advanced solutions to safely improve the appearance of both red and brown birthmarks with precision and care.

How Birthmark Treatments Work

Treatment is tailored to the specific type of birthmark. Red (vascular) birthmarks are typically treated using laser technology that targets and reduces visible blood vessels, while brown (pigmented) birthmarks are addressed by breaking down excess melanin within the skin. These advanced laser systems selectively treat the affected area while preserving surrounding tissue, allowing for gradual and controlled improvement.

What to Expect

Treatments are performed in-office and are generally well tolerated, with minimal discomfort. Depending on the type and depth of the birthmark, multiple sessions may be recommended to achieve optimal results. Patients may experience temporary redness or mild sensitivity following treatment, with gradual lightening and blending of the birthmark over time.
